I finished this pen and ink portrait of Michelangelo recently. I was tempted to continue filling in all of the details of the Sistine Chapel, much like the artist himself, crowding it with cherubim and ignudi. Instead I have him standing ready to continue his painful labors, painting a ceiling while resenting and loving it simultaneously.
